Dennis Fast > MALE POLAR BEAR RELAXING IN FIREWEED.

The simple elegance of a white bear in a field of purple fireweed is breath-taking. In the times I have camped with bears, I never tire of seeing the "king of beasts".
Dennis Fast > STRAWBERRY CACTUS FLOWERS.

A few years ago I was photographing on a ranch in Texas for several months. It hadn't rained there for about 8 months, but for many weeks the strawberry cacti were covered in buds that wouldn't open. Then, one day it rained 4 inches, and almost overnight the desert came alive. Blossoms were everywhere for a few days, and the effect was simply mind-blowing.
Dennis Fast > OSPREY LANDING ON NEST

The Osprey is one of the most widespread raptors in the world. Feeding primarily on fish, it is a delight to watch it hovering high over the water before plunging down to snare its prey. Equally fascinating is to watch it turn the fish in its talons to make sure the fish is always facing headfirst as the bird flies home to its nest.
Dennis Fast > NORTHERN LIGHTS LANDSCAPE.

Some of my favourite aurora photos were made over this muskox skull in the Northwest Territories of Canada. When I saw this scene unfold in the distance, I ran as fast as I could to to get the skull into the photo with the swirling northern lights.
Dennis Fast > MOUNTAIN LION LOOKOUT

High vantage points are a favourite of the mountain lion. His remarkable vision will detect movement from great distances. On his lofty perch unwary prey might not even notice him till he is on their back.
Dennis Fast > MARSH MARIGOLD

The marsh marigold is one of the earlier Spring blossoms. It loves the edges of swamps and creeks, wet areas in the woodlands, and even ditches that remain wet for lengthy periods. It grows in masses creating a wonderful golden glow wherever it blooms.
Dennis Fast > BLEEDING HEART.

Three guesses as to how the flower got its name!
Dennis Fast > GREY TREE FROG ON GLADIOLA FLOWER.

The grey tree frog (gray, if you're American), actually blends gradually with its background. I see many more green shades than the colour (color) it is named after!
Dennis Fast > SUNRISE FOG.

The advantage of sleeping in my vehicle is that I can wake up at a beautiful spot and start taking pictures without getting out of bed! Sunrise fog is a favorite of mine and you can see why here.
