Dennis Fast > POLAR BEAR IN MORNING SUN AND FOG.

This curious polar bear showed up one morning near Dymond Lake Lodge where I was staying at not far from Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. The combination of early sun and frost in the air took my breath away.

Dennis Fast > BALD EAGLE STOMP.

We usually associate eagles with elegance, power and graceful flight; but this guy looks like he is having a bad hair day! All he needs to complete his image with "attitude" is to have a cigar protruding from his beak.
Dennis Fast > THE CHASE.

These two mountain lion cubs were barely 6 months old so they still played like kittens. Chasing each other at top speed through the snow, it was difficult to predict which way they would turn next. I finally caught the moment as they charged toward me.
Dennis Fast > SIBERIAN TIGER.

The Siberian tiger is quite familiar with snow in its native habitat, so it was no surprise to see this one enjoying it as much as he did. I felt fortunate to capture him in full stride with all four feet off the ground.

Dennis Fast > POLAR BEAR SMILE IN FIREWEED.

Of all the bears, polar bear are at once the most inviting and the most dangerous of them all. They are indeed playful, relaxed and charming - but don't turn your back!

Dennis Fast > MALE POLAR BEAR IN FIREWEED

This is one of the most dramatic polar bears photos I have ever taken, and it remains one of my personal favourites. The bear is definitely in a pre-charge threat posture with only a fence between him and myself and sudden death!
